At The Crown at Iverley, we believe that great hospitality begins with family, passion and commitment to excellence.

In early 2024, Darren and Stephanie McClure proudly took over, the beginning of a new chapter for this beloved gastropub.

Darren has been at the heart of The Crown since 2018, bringing over 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry. Before this, he worked as an area manager for a Sunday Times Top 100 company, overseeing an impressive portfolio of pubs, restaurants, hotels and wedding venues across the Midlands. In 2017, Darren earned a postgraduate diploma in Multi-Unit Leadership and Strategy from Birmingham City University, further honing his expertise in the field. Darren is also a director of Social Eats, a local events and festival company, reflecting his passion for building vibrant communities.

Stephanie has been by Darren’s side for over 25 years, providing wholehearted support throughout their journey. In addition to running Ellure aesthetics, her business based at The Crown, Stephanie plays an integral role behind the scenes, stepping in wherever needed to deliver the family vision.

Family is at the heart of everything we do. Darren and Stephanie’s daughter and son, Charlotte and James are actively involved in the business and often work front of house. Charlotte supports the business managing our tipi events and assisting with social media and administrative tasks, ensuring everything runs seamlessly. James runs his own mobile coffee business, Coffee by James, offering delicious coffees available to hire for events.

We are incredibly proud of our loyal team. Our chefs Phil, Paige, Rachel, Lottie and Tom work tirelessly to craft our bespoke menus filled with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Assistant manager Katie has been an unwavering support throughout this journey.

From our family to yours, we are an independent business passionate about serving beautifully crafted food with local provenance wherever possible. Our premium drinks menu, personally selected wine list and quality cocktails are all served by our team who are truly dedicated to creating unforgettable experiences.
